На написание этого жалкого (как по объёму, так и по смыслу) поста у меня ушло больше недели, и за это время успели выйти аж две серии. Ну, строго говоря, не две, а три – первую и вторую серии показали вместе как один 42-минутный (!) эпизод. Честно говоря, я не могла решить, что же тут написать об этом аниме, потому что это высококачественный прон с ОБЧР влюбилась в этот сериал сразу и непредвзятой быть не могу xD Потрясающий дизайн персонажей, опенинг и эндинг просто шикарны.
Называемый (в народе) ‘Aquarion LOVE’ (тоже неспроста), Aquarion Evol является сиквелом аниме-сериала 2005 года Sousei no Aquarion, и если в реальном мире сериалы разделяет промежуток времени в каких-то 6,5 лет, согласно внутренней хронологии события в Aquarion Evol происходят аж через двенадцать тысяч лет после событий Sousei no Aquarion. Не могу вам с уверенностью сказать, надо ли смотреть первый сериал прежде чем приниматься за этот; я не смотрела, и пока что никаких трудностей с пониманием сюжета у меня не возникло. Насколько я поняла, история первого сериала внутри второго рассматривается как красивая древняя легенда.
Хотя я не могу назвать себя преданным фанатом жанра “меха”, трейлеры и прочие промки были такой необычайной красоты, что пропустить такое аниме я просто не могла. Нельзя упускать из виду и тот факт, что автором Aquarion является Кавамори Сёдзи – создатель Macross и Escaflowne, так что если даже (скорее всего) именно это аниме и не станет таким же безумно популярным как Macross Frontier (уж простите, я неровно дышу к MacrossF), по крайней мере мы получим ещё один качественный сериал.
Надеюсь, что не разочаруюсь (хотя, учитывая как Кавамори-сан закончил Macross Frontier, не могу гарантировать что концовка этого сериала меня обрадует).

Writing this pathetic (in terms of both the word count and the sense) post took me more than a week, so the whole two episodes have already aired. Well, technically it’s been three episodes, since episodes 1 and 2 aired together as one long (42 minutes!) episode. In fact, I couldn’t decide what to write about it here, since it’s basically high-quality mecha porn I immediately fell in love with this series and there’s no way I’ll be unbiased xD I absolutely love the character design, and the OP & ED songs got to be my current faves.
Dubbed as ‘Aquarion LOVE’ (no mere coincidence), Aquarion Evol is a sequel to the 2005 TV anime Sousei no Aquarion, and while in real life the two series are some 6.5 years apart, according to the inner timeline the events in Aquarion Evol take place 12,000 years after the events of Sousei no Aquarion. I can’t really tell you if you should watch the first series before watching this anime; I haven’t, and so far I have no troubles understanding what’s going on. As far as I understood, the story of the first series is treated as a beautiful ancient legend in Evol.
Even though I can’t call myself an avid mecha fan, I got hooked when I saw the yummy visuals in the trailers & CMs. You also can’t ignore the fact that the creator of Aquarion is Kawamori Shoji – the creator of Macross and Escaflowne, so even if (most likely) this very anime doesn’t end up being as popular as Macross Frontier (excuse me, I’m a MacrossF fangirl), at least we’ll get one more quality series.
I hope I won’t be disappointed (though, knowing how Kawamori-san ended Macross Frontier, I can’t guarantee I’ll accept the way he’ll end this series).

Во-первых, должна сказать вам следующее: это аниме может выглядеть как сёдзё притворяющееся сёнэном, но на самом деле – ни то, ни другое. Скорее, это смесь Kuroshitsuji и обыкновенного аниме с главной героиней-цундэрэ. Уж не знаю, насколько это аниме понравится мальчикам (фансервис, конечно, есть, но его совсем немного), но вот девочкам понравится точно. Поэтому, видимо, целевой аудиторией являются такие извращенки как я, неравнодушные к романтике и японскому фольклору.
Главная героиня – 15-летняя плоскогрудая цундэрэ, которая понимает, что словесно оскорблять других – неправильно, и она так себя ведёт потому что чувствует себя одинокой, но, тем не менее, продолжает осыпать колкостями всех, кого только видит, если вдруг они проявляют к ней хоть какой-нибудь интерес. Более того, глав. героиня – девочка из богатой семьи, выросшая в атмосфере полного контроля и лишённая личной свободы и независимости, равно как и каких-либо проявлений любви со стороны родных и друзей. Устав от такой жизни, наша кавайная героиня решает переехать в загадочный (и супер-элитный) жилой комплекс ‘Maison de Ayakashi’ (само название недвусмысленно намекает) чтобы пожить самостоятельно. Однако, в первый же день она встречает (прямо как в сёдзё манге) блестящего (в прямом смысле) бисёнэна Микецуками-куна (тоже прямо из сёдзё манги – красивого, высокого, старше глав. героини по возрасту, готового защищать её от всего и абсолютно ей преданного), который, по идее, должен быть её личным агентом Секретной Службы (Secret Service, SS). И они жили долго и счастливо Нет, это другая сказка. Потом происходит много всего, но в общем и целом это всё-таки романтическая комедия. Все персонажи очень симпатичны, хотя и со странностями.
Если вы ожидаете увидеть экшн и кровищу, посмотрите какое-нибудь другое аниме.
Не знаю, сколько двусмысленных шуток из манги будет в аниме, но без тонкого (и не очень) троллинга не обойдётся.

First of all, let me tell you this: the anime may seem like a shoujo show pretending to be a shounen show, but in fact it’s neither. More like a mix of Kuroshitsuji with your typical tsundere anime. I’m not sure if guys will like it (there is some fanservice, but not that much), but girls certainly will. So I guess the target audience are perverts like me with a soft spot for romance and Japanese folklore.
The protagonist is a 15-year-old flat-chested tsundere girl, who is aware that verbally abusing others is wrong and she does that only because she feels lonely, but nevertheless continues insulting everyone in sight if they display any interest towards her. What’s more, she comes from a rich family and grew up in an environment that didn’t presuppose any personal freedom and independence, as well as any kind of affection from family and friends. Tired of this kind of life, the little cutie decides to move into a mysterious (and super-elite) mansion ‘Maison de Ayakashi’ (the name of the place should give you a hint) to try living independently. However, on the very first day she experiences a dreamlike encounter (straight out of a shoujo manga) with a sparkling (literally) bishounen Miketsukami-kun (also straight out of a shoujo manga – absolutely totally hot, taller & older than the girl, protects her from everything and is devoted to her like a dog), who is supposed to be her personal Secret Service (SS) agent. And then they lived happily No, wrong story. Then some stuff happens and some more stuff happens, but basically it’s still a romantic comedy. The characters are very likeable despite having their own quirks.
If you expect a lot of action and bloody violence, go watch something else.
I don’t know how many of suggestive jokes from the manga will make it to the anime, but expect a certain amount of trolling.

1972 год. В одном маленьком японском городке (в которых, как и в маленьких японских деревнях, часто творится всякая чертовщина) жила была одна девочка, умница и красавица, и все её очень любили. Но едва девочка перешла в девятый класс, с ней произошёл несчастный случай, и девочка погибла. Её одноклассники (которые, я напомню, её очень любили) решили закончить учебный год так, как будто бы Мисаки-сан жива. Трогательный поступок, но, видимо, не стоило этого делать…
Через 26 лет после описанных событий в этот маленький городок приезжает обыкновенный японский школьник Сакакибара-кун (наш главный герой). Очень скоро выясняется, что ему предстоит учиться в той же самой школе и классе, что и погибшая когда-то Мисаки-сан, а его новые одноклассники очень много от него скрывают.
Аниме скорее жуткое, чем страшное, так что мороз по коже обеспечен. Очень красиво нарисовано; если с чем и сравнивать, так с другим шедевром – Shiki. Сюжеты разные, но атмосфера почти одинаковая.
Очень рекомендую всем любителям кавайного, но хоррора.

Year 1972. In a certain small Japanese town (in which, just like in small Japanese villages, there’s often some devilry going on) there lived a girl, a smart and cute one, and everyone loved her. But soon after she started her 9th year of school she got into a strange accident and died. Her classmates (who loved her very much) decided to go on with the school routine till the graduation as if Misaki-san was still alive. A touching act, but, obviously, they shouldn’t have done it…
26 years after the described events a normal Japanese schoolboy Sakakibara-kun (our protagonist) moves to this small town. Very soon he finds out that he will attend the same school and study in the same classroom as the late Misaki-san, and that his new classmates hide something important from him.
The anime is more uncanny than frightening, so you’ll get chills for sure. The visuals are great; if I have to compare it with some other anime, I’d compare it to one more masterpiece – Shiki. The stories are different, but the atmospheres are almost identical.
Watch it if you like cute yet horror stuff.

Потрясающая комедия, которая уступает только Гинтаме.
Это всё.
Серьёзно.
Смешно даже после третьего просмотра.
Почему вдруг “всплыло” сравнение с Гинтамой? Всё просто – у двух сериалов много общего, начиная от студии и заканчивая типом юмора (а поклонники Гинтамы будут приятно удивлены увидев (вернее, услышив) и ещё кое-что).
Сюжета, как такого, нет. Просто короткие (и уморительные) зарисовки из жизни обыкновенных японских школьников, которые укрепляют дружбу посредством троллинга друг друга и окружающих.
Рекомендовано.

A great comedy second only to Gintama.

Still funny even if you watch it thrice.
Why am I comparing it with Gintama? That’s simple – the two shows have a lot in common, from the studio to the type of humor (and Gintafans will be delighted to see (or, more precisely, to hear) one more similarity).
There’s no real plot. Just a number of short (and side-splitting) sketches about normal high school boys who strengthen their friendship through trolling each other and everyone around.
Recommended.

Начну с сюжета, чтобы побыстрее покончить с этой частью: аниме представляет собой адаптацию одноимённой манги, которая рассказывает о легендарных “Десяти храбрецах Санады” (это загуглите); действие происходит, как можно догадаться, в эпоху воюющих провинций (период Сэнгоку). Разумеется, сие повествование не претендует на историческую достоверность и носит, скорее, развлекательный характер. Хотя само аниме от этого хуже не становится. Естественно, смотреть и не сравнивать с Sengoku Basara невозможно – мне не хотелось бы говорить, что одно аниме лучше или хуже другого, тем более, что мне лично они оба нравятся.
Теперь самое главное: это не обратный гарем. Клянусь. Хотя, за неимением настоящего обратного гарема (как тут не вспомнить Hakuouki) или хоть какого-нибудь яойного аниме среди всех новых зимних шоу, это аниме вполне фапабельно может заинтересовать женскую часть аудитории – выглядит оно очень и очень вкусно. Для мужской части аудитории (аниме заявлено как сэйнен, я напоминаю) там есть экшен и главная героиня Исанами, не обременённая одеждой и, видимо, здравым смыслом – не поймите меня неправильно, она меня совсем не раздражает, но смотрю я это аниме не из-за неё а из-за Сайдзо.
Опенинг и эндинг мне понравились сразу, а после десятого прослушивания я вообще не могу без них жить.

I’ll start with the plot just to get done with this part: the anime is an adaptation of the manga of the same name, which tells a story of the legendary Sanada Ten Braves (google it); the story takes place, as one can figure out, during the Warring States period (Sengoku Jidai). Of course, this anime doesn’t mean to be historically accurate and has been created mostly for the sake of entertainment. However, this fact doesn’t make it worse. Of course, it’s impossible to watch it and not to compare to Sengoku Basara – but I don’t want to say that one anime is better of worse than the other, especially when I like them both so much.
Now onto the main point: this is NOT a reverse harem. I swear. Nevertheless, since we don’t have a single real reverse harem (can’t but remember Hakuouki) or BL anime among new winter shows, this one looks quite fappable interesting for the female part of the audience thanks to the delicious-looking male characters. For the male part of the audience (the anime is supposed to be seinen, mind you) there are some action scenes and the female lead Isanami, not burdened with excessive clothing and, most likely, common sense – don’t get me wrong, I don’t find her annoying, but she isn’t the main reason why I watch this anime I watch it because of Saizou.
I immediately liked both the OP and the ED, and after listening to them for a dozen of times I can’t picture my life without these songs anymore.

Обыкновенная (???) японская школьница и вполне себе гэнки Марика живёт с мамой, ходит в школу и подрабатывает в кафе, пока в один прекрасный (???) день не узнаёт, что её папочка был космическим пиратом, да не просто пиратом, а капитаном пиратского корабля, а “был”, потому что недавно покинул сей бренный мир и теперь ей, как прямой наследнице, нужно занять место капитана пиратского космического корабля. Это было “коротко о сюжете”.
Честно говоря, второй день не могу придумать, что и как рассказать вам об этом аниме. Оно мне очень понравилось, причём сразу – я получила огромное удовольствие от просмотра первой серии, мне очень понравилась Марика, а особенно понравилась Тиаки, а вообще там всё очень ярко, весело и довольно рандомно, но разве не за это мы любим аниме, в конце концов? Никакого тупого фансервиса, что, несомненно, плюс. Подозреваю, что это аниме обладает сюжетом – по крайней мере, первая серия выглядела очень и очень интересно, заманчиво и, главное, динамично, так что заскучать не удалось.
Обязательно буду смотреть дальше, чего и вам советую.

A normal (???) Japanese schoolgirl and quite a genki Marika lives with her mother, goes to school and works part-time in a cafe, but one day she learns that her father was a space pirate, and not just any pirate, but a captain of a pirate ship, and ‘was’ because he recently passed away, and now she, as his immediate heiress, has to take the place of the captain.
Frankly speaking, I’ve been thinking for nearly two days what and how I should tell you about this anime. I liked it very much, and at once – I enjoyed the first episode greatly, I like Marika and especially like Chiaki, and on the whole it was very bright, lively and rather random, but that’s why we like anime, dayo ne? No stupid fanservice, and that’s definitely a plus. I suspect a storyline in this anime – at least, the first episode looked very interesting, captivating and, what’s more, dynamic, so I never got bored.
I will continue watching it, and recommend you do the same.

Я просто не могу быть объективной, если дело касается студии SHAFT вообще и Bakemonogatari в частности. Поэтому появление сиквела к этому нежно и горячо любимому мною аниме не могло меня не обрадовать. Были, разумеется, опасения разочароваться, но они, к счастью, не оправдались.
Итак, вопрос первый: обязательно ли смотреть Bakemonogatari, чтобы “въехать” в Nisemonogatari? Ответ: да. Во-первых, в сиквеле действуют (почти) те же самые персонажи, поэтому понять кто есть кто будет трудно – в этом отношении два сериала сюжетно связаны (хотя, строго говоря, они менее сюжетно связаны, чем можно было бы полагать). Во-вторых, если вам не понравился первый сериал, то не понравится и этот – сняты они в одной стилистике.
Вопрос второй: чем второй сериал отличается от первого? Ответ: фокусом. Второй сериал рассказывает о злоприключениях младших сестёр Арараги-куна; таким образом, второстепенные персонажи становятся главными, а главные – второстепенными (ну, кроме самого Арараги-куна).
Это аниме в моих рекомендациях не нуждается – если вы смотрели Bakemonogatari, то знаете чего ожидать и надо ли оно вам вообще. Хотя, я надеюсь, оно ещё нас всех (приятно) удивит.

I just can’t be unbiased when it comes to SHAFT in general and to Bakemonogatari in particular. That’s why I couldn’t be anything but happy when the long-awaited sequel was finally released. Of course I had been somewhat afraid of getting disappointed, but, fortunately, I wasn’t.
Question 1: is it obligatory to watch Bakemonogatari to get into Nisemonogatari? Answer: Yes, it is. First, the sequel has (almost) the same characters, so you won’t know them otherwise – and that’s how the two series are connected (not that they share the same storyline, at least not in the way you’d expect from a sequel). Second, if you didn’t like the first series, you won’t like the second one – after all, they have the same style.
Question 2: what’s the difference between the two series? Answer: it’s the focus. The second series tells about misadventures of Araragi-kun’s younger sisters; to put it simple, the supporting characters become the main ones and vice versa (with the exception of Araragi-kun himself).
This anime doesn’t need my recommendations – if you watched Bakemonogatari, you know what to expect and if you need to bother with the sequel at all. Nevertheless, I hope, it will (pleasantly) surprise us all.

This post is about the one-shot, not the currently serialized manga of the same name (I haven’t read it yet).

This is the story of the two young lovebirds, Raku and Chitoge, who are almost like the present-day Romeo and Juliet. With one exception. They actually… can’t stand each other and have to fake their lovey-dovey relationship because of, err, reasons. He is an heir to a yakuza family, she comes from a family of gangsters, not to mention that their families are (business) rivals. So, to prevent a full-scale mafia war, Raku and Chitoge have to go along the peacemaking plan and pretend to be lovers, and this is the story of their (mis)adventures.
This sweet and violent little oneshot is exactly what you need if you’re looking for a short and funny yet romantic manga with great artwork and without any unnecessary overdramatizing.
I haven’t touched the serialized version yet, but if I ever do, I’ll make sure to write about it as well.

[Manga] Onani Master Kurosawa

The sole aim of this post is to make you all, without exception, read this manga.

Don’t judge book by its cover, and don’t judge manga by its title. That’s right, ‘onani’ definitely stands for ‘onanism’, which makes the title so misleading – I bet those of you unfamiliar with this manga immediately thought that it must be full of ecchi stuff and whatnot. Well, let me tell you that no matter what you imagined when seeing the title, you are wrong, because, in reality, this jewel is nothing less than one of the best psychological mangas out there.
It starts out as a pretty amusing tale of a schoolboy whose hobby is jacking off every day (in a girls’ restroom, mind you) while fantasizing about girls from his school. Due to a series of unambiguous references, this manga (or, to be more precise, its first chapters) even gained itself a name ‘Fap Note’ xD (I bet you’re thinking ‘And she said it’s not about ecchi stuff!’). But despite all that, the story isn’t as superficial as it may seem. In fact, pretty soon you’ll start to notice that it gets more and more serious with each chapter. I’m not going to reveal any plot twists, I’ll just say that I felt rather uncomfortable with some chapters in volumes 3 and 4, and surely it wasn’t an easy read overall. I even cried several times. It’s been more than 2 years since I read this manga, but I still feel very strongly about it.
One (and, probably, the main) of the strong points of this manga is its characters – they are so realistic that you have no choice but to empathize with them. The main character, Kurosawa Kakeru, is an example of the most impressive character development I’ve seen so far. But supporting characters are also definitely worth your attention – some of them will surely surprise you, but it’s not like they just change overnight, it’s just that you’ll be allowed into their inner world but in a very subtle way. Being set in a school (which is a model of society), this manga touches upon different problems (e.g. bullying) and handles them brilliantly. So if you’re looking for a manga that could make an impact on you, pick this one.
If you ask me to describe it in one sentence, I’ll say “It’s about screwing everything up and then gathering enough courage to fix it”.
So that’s how it is.
The artwork is pretty neat, given it’s a doujin manga; you surely won’t find it unpleasant. So, I do hope this manga will gain more recognition.
